Sustainability is all the rage; an umbrella term for everything that places less strain on our planet (and its future). We, too, would love to see a world that is as green as possible and that will last for a very long time. But let’s be honest: our products are not fully circular or 100 per cent sustainable. Our production process also requires raw materials, energy and transport. However, we strive for quality and, by extension, sustainability.

Long lifespan

We manufacture our products based on the idea that something which lasts longer is, by its very nature, a little more sustainable. If you need to replace something less often, this reduces waste, as well as the energy used to produce it. A quality product is usually more expensive to buy, but you tend to take better care of valuable items, and in this way you indirectly contribute to a more sustainable world.

We also ensure that parts, such as the binding systems on our menus, are replaceable (repairable). We also plan our production in such a way that we use our machinery efficiently. This sometimes results in a slightly longer lead time, but it does mean lower energy consumption.

Sustainability is also reflected in:

• Recycling: Our aluminium composite products are recyclable, as the material can be processed into a new raw material. The coating we use is a solvent-free powder coating, and any excess material is reused.
• Upcycling: Reusing old vinyl records is a step towards a circular economy. We divert them from landfill and turn them into something new without, for example, melting them down. In doing so, we restore the supply chain.
