Ancient craft
Traditional crafts make use of simple tools at most. Traditional crafts can be further divided into museum crafts and contemporary traditional crafts.
A ‘museum craft’ is one that disappeared from everyday life following the Industrial Revolution. These crafts, such as spinning, basket weaving or weaving, are often part of our cultural heritage. They are now practised only in museums.
Traditional crafts that are still actively practised today include, for example, hat-making, furniture-making and blacksmithing.
