Applying a coating is a skilled craft, a precise process. Of course, you need to know which type of coating is suitable for your product, but that’s not the end of it. You need to have a thorough understanding of how to apply a coating and how the substrate reacts to it.

Methods of coating

There are various ways to apply a coating. For example, a coating can be sprayed on, the base material can be immersed in a (liquid) coating, or a coating can be rolled onto the substrate. In our case, powder coating is sprayed onto aluminium composite. To ensure good adhesion, the material to be coated must be clean and free of grease. The coating is then applied to the substrate in a controlled layer thickness (in our case, manually) and cured under carefully selected conditions.

Not every coater is capable of coating aluminium composite. The selection of our coater was preceded by an extensive testing phase, resulting in a coating process specifically tailored to our product.
